At Alkira Adina Equestrian, learning has always been about more than riding.
Our sessions are grounded in experiential education, using horses as learning buddies to support confidence, communication, and foundational skills. This approach is guided by the WildQuest philosophy.
WildQuest is an experiential learning framework developed through years of real-world practice at Alkira Adina.
While WildQuest Education now supports families and educators beyond our property, Alkira Adina continues to use the WildQuest approach exclusively with horses as learning partners.
Why Alkira Adina began

In this video, Vanessa shares the story behind the beginning of Alkira Adina Equestrian — from life as a classroom teacher, through burnout, to recognising what children and families were truly asking for.
This lived experience shaped the learning philosophy that continues today through both Alkira Adina and WildQuest.
At Alkira Adina, the WildQuest approach is woven into sessions through:
-
learning through movement and experience
-
horses as responsive learning buddies
-
focus on communication, emotional awareness, and confidence
-
adaptable activities guided by the child’s needs
-
mentoring rather than instruction
As WildQuest Education continues to develop, future pathways for educators and facilitators are being explored. Alkira Adina remains the place where this approach is lived, tested, and refined.
Whether learning happens in the paddock or at home, the heart of the approach remains the same: learning that feels connected, meaningful, and achievable.
