The Buddies

Thumper

Logun Hills Thumper, 14hh Gypsy Cob

Thumper is the class clown. She is very busy, thinking for herself, despite having low outward energy. Thumper is a left brained introvert.

Likes: Food. Any type of food will do. Will even eat the wooden spoon to mix the food and the handles off the food bowl, dressing up.

Dislikes: Toe socks, opera singers and sad monkeys.

Cruiser

Cruiser the Cute Pony, 12.2hh Riding Pony

Cruiser makes a statement with his luscious mane and tail and loves to prance around showing off.

Cruiser likes- chasing butterflies in the paddock, liquorice, rolling in the mud, dance music and getting his main braided with colourful ribbons.

Cruiser dislikes- rainy days (it means his hair gets out of place), overly enthusiastic koalas (was there red cordial in those gum leaves?) slinky toys and jelly shoes (they look delicious but can’t eat them).

Bella

M&K Del-Ishes Dream, 14.3hh AAA Appaloosa

Bella has previously spent several years at a riding school. She has competed in dressage and general riding club events. Bella is a quiet, kind horse who loves to plod along. Bella is a right brained introvert.

Likes- Rainbow sprinkles, lattes and sleeping in the sun.

Dislikes- Being cold and alarm clocks.

Dani

Callendale Shadow, 14.3hh Riding Pony

Dani will always be remembered as a spirited and loving part of our team and was a part of Vanessa's family for 18 years. She had a remarkable career in riding lessons, dressage, hacking, eventing, and even archery! She lived life at full speed but would happily stand for hours while little hands brushed her. Dani was an incredible partner, with a keen sense of body language and spatial awareness. A true left-brained extrovert, she brought joy to everyone she met.

Likes – Carrot cake and rolling in flowers.
Dislikes – Waiting for dinner and socks with sandals.

Forever in our hearts and waiting for me on the other side. ❤️

Matilda 3.jpg

Matilda

Logun Hills Matilda, Gypsy Vanner yearling (mature 14.2hh)

Meet Matilda, our sweet and food-loving yearling! Granddaughter of Thumper, she’s filled with love and always first in line at snack time. Matilda enjoys tugging on hay nets, playing hide-and-seek with her feed bucket, and rolling in the mud. However, she’s not a fan of vacuum cleaners, strange objects, or waiting her turn for food. With her playful personality, Matilda is sure to steal your heart!

Likes – Sneaking extra snacks when no one’s looking, dramatically flopping into the mud like it’s a five-star spa treatment, rearranging hay nets (even if they were perfectly fine), chasing ducks and pretending to be starving five minutes after breakfast.

Dislikes – Vacuum cleaners (what is that noisy monster?!), when food mysteriously disappears (because she already ate it) and being told she cannot taste-test the human’s coffee.

Eva

Rochacheva, 16.1hh, Thoroughbred

Eva is our sweet and gentle mare, perfect for beginners and riders of all skill levels. With a calm and caring nature, she looks after everyone—from little learners to confident riders.

A fun fact about Eva is that she loves swimming in the River Murray! We're convinced she must've been a sea horse in a past life, splashing around and riding the waves. Her friendly personality and steady temperament make every session with her safe, fun, and memorable.

Whether you're taking your very first ride or building confidence in the saddle, Eva will be your trusty partner every step of the way. 🐴💙

Likes mermaid parties, rainbow surfing and treasure hunts.

Dislikes seaweed scarves, stormy waters and crabby crabs 🦀

Captain Solo.jpg

Captain Solo

15.3hh Thoroughbred

Captain Solo is our big, lovable goofball with a playful spirit and a heart of gold. He’s always up for a game, whether it’s chasing after balls or navigating obstacle courses with flair. Despite his larger-than-life personality, Solo is as cool as a cucumber—nothing rattles this calm and collected captain. With his gentle nature and joyful energy, he makes every interaction fun. 🐴💛

Likes daydreaming of winning the Horseball Cup, disco hoedowns and cloud jumping.

Dislikes pirates, giant sneaky squirrels and wearing fancy hats.

penny.jpg

Penny

14.2hh Tobiano Brumby

Penny is the life of the party and never misses a chance to say hello! She’s the first to the gate to greet you and always keen for a cuddle. If Penny were a person, she’d be at every social event, making friends wherever she goes. She’s a sweet and gentle soul who loves being fussed over and is happiest when surrounded by people.

Likes – Whispering secrets to her paddock mates, photobombing your selfies, and pretending she's the star of a horse movie.

Dislikes – Rainy days ruining her perfect mane, when the food bucket is clearly empty (even when it’s not), and birds who sit on her fence without asking!

Sitka.jpg

Sitka

15hh Standardbred

Sitka is the wise old gentleman of the herd, always keeping a watchful eye on the "young whippersnappers" and making sure they mind their manners. He’s kind, gentle, and has a soft spot for anyone willing to give him a good scratch. But don’t let his calm nature fool you—when it's mealtime, Sitka moves with the speed of a horse half his age!

Likes – Taste-testing everyone’s hay to make sure it's up to standard, standing in the exact sunniest spot in the paddock, and telling dramatic stories about “back in my day.”

Dislikes – When the young ones gallop for no reason, people who walk too fast for no apparent reason, and the betrayal of biting into a cookie that turns out to be raisin instead of chocolate chip.
