In Loving Memory of Dani
Callendale Shadow, 14.3hh Riding Pony
Dani will always be remembered as a spirited and loving part of our team and was a part of Vanessa's family for 18 years. She had a remarkable career in riding lessons, dressage, hacking, eventing, and even archery! She lived life at full speed but would happily stand for hours while little hands brushed her. Dani was an incredible partner, with a keen sense of body language and spatial awareness. A true left-brained extrovert, she brought joy to everyone she met.

Dani loves: Carrot cake and rolling in flowers.
Dani isn't so keen on: Waiting for dinner and socks with sandals.
Forever in our hearts and waiting for me on the other side.
Some horses leave hoofprints on our hearts that never fade.

Thumper
Logun Hills Thumper · 14hh Gypsy Cob
Thumper makes a statement with her luscious mane and tail and loves to prance around showing off.
Thumper loves
Chasing butterflies in the paddock, liquorice, rolling in the mud, dancing to music and having her mane braided with colourful ribbons.
Thumper isn't so keen on
Rainy days (her hair gets out of place!), overly enthusiastic koalas, slinky toys and jelly shoes. They might look delicious, but they're definitely not for eating!

Bella
M&K Del-Ishes Dream · 14.3hh AAA Appaloosa
Bella has spent several years at a riding school and has competed in dressage and general riding club events. She's a quiet, kind horse who loves to plod along at her own pace.
A thoughtful, right-brained introvert, Bella has a gentle presence and a personality all her own.

Rainbow sprinkles, lattes and sleeping in the sun.
Bella isn't so keen on
Being cold and alarm clocks!

Matilda
Logun Hills Matilda, Gypsy Vanner filly (2024 foal) mature 14.2hh
Matilda is a much-loved member of the Alkira Adina team, with a personality that makes her hard to forget. Whether she's exploring her surroundings or spending time with her favourite people, she brings her own special character to the paddock.

Matilda loves
Sneaking extra snacks when no one’s looking, dramatically flopping into the mud like it’s a five-star spa treatment, rearranging hay nets (even if they were perfectly fine), chasing ducks and pretending to be starving five minutes after breakfast.
Matilda isn't so keen on
Vacuum cleaners (what is that noisy monster?!), when food mysteriously disappears (because she already ate it) and being told she cannot taste-test the human’s coffee.

Eva
Rochacheva, 16.1hh, Thoroughbred
Eva is our sweet and gentle mare, perfect for beginners and riders of all skill levels. With her calm and caring nature, she looks after everyone — from little learners to confident riders.

A fun fact about Eva is that she loves swimming in the River Murray! We're convinced she must have been a seahorse in a past life, splashing around and riding the waves. Her friendly personality and steady temperament make every session with her safe, fun and memorable.

Whether you're taking your very first ride or building confidence in the saddle, Eva will be your trusty partner every step of the way.

Eva loves: Mermaid parties, rainbow surfing and treasure hunts.
Eva isn't so keen on: Seaweed scarves, stormy waters and crabby crabs.

Captain Solo

Captain Solo is our big, lovable goofball with a playful spirit and a heart of gold. He’s always up for a game, whether it’s chasing after balls or navigating obstacle courses with flair.
Despite his larger-than-life personality, Solo is as cool as a cucumber — nothing rattles this calm and collected captain. With his gentle nature and joyful energy, he makes every interaction fun.

Captain Solo loves: Daydreaming of winning the Horseball Cup, disco hoedowns and cloud jumping.
Captain Solo isn't so keen on: Pirates, giant sneaky squirrels and wearing fancy hats.

Penny

Penny is the life of the party and never misses a chance to say hello! She’s the first to the gate to greet you and is always keen for a cuddle.
If Penny were a person, she’d be at every social event, making friends wherever she goes. She’s a sweet and gentle soul who loves being fussed over and is happiest when surrounded by people.

Penny loves: Whispering secrets to her paddock mates, photobombing your selfies and pretending she’s the star of a horse movie.
Penny isn't so keen on: Rainy days ruining her perfect mane, when the food bucket is clearly empty (even when it’s not), and birds who sit on her fence without asking!

Sitka
15hh Standardbred
Sitka is the wise old gentleman of the herd, always keeping a watchful eye on the “young whippersnappers” and making sure they mind their manners.
He’s kind, gentle and has a soft spot for anyone willing to give him a good scratch. But don’t let his calm nature fool you — when it’s mealtime, Sitka moves with the speed of a horse half his age!

Sitka loves: Taste-testing everyone’s hay to make sure it’s up to standard, standing in the exact sunniest spot in the paddock and telling dramatic stories about “back in my day”.
Sitka isn't so keen on: When the young ones gallop for no reason, people who walk too fast for no apparent reason, and the betrayal of biting into a cookie that turns out to be raisin instead of chocolate chip.

Skye
15.1hh Quarter Horse
Skye is the sunshine of the herd, glowing with her beautiful perlino coat and quietly confident nature. This Quarter Horse mare has a calm, steady presence that helps beginners feel safe while still offering a lovely ride for more experienced riders.
She’s the kind of horse who meets you where you’re at. Soft, willing and always ready to head out for the next adventure.

With her unique colouring and pink skin, Skye is a little bit like royalty in a sun hat. We take extra care to protect her from the Australian sun, which she accepts with the patient dignity of a horse who knows she’s worth the effort.
​
Skye loves: Gentle rides with kind riders, shady paddock naps, having her beautiful mane admired and the satisfying sound of a perfectly opened feed bin.
Skye isn't so keen on: Harsh sunshine on her delicate nose, being rushed when she’s trying to enjoy a moment, and any suggestion that another horse might actually be more glamorous than her.

Tanzi
Welsh Pony
Tanzi is our sassy little Christmas enthusiast who knows exactly what she likes! With her cheeky personality and a sprinkle of sparkle, she certainly knows how to keep things interesting around the paddock.
Tanzi loves being a little bit cheeky, showing off her sass and dreaming of a world filled with pink sparkles and Christmas magic. She's never afraid to let her personality shine!

Tanzi loves: Being sassy, pink sparkles and Christmas.
Tanzi isn't so keen on: Trolls lurking where they shouldn't, bunyips hiding in the dam and anything that threatens her fabulous sparkle-filled world!

Dezi
Welsh × Palouse
Dezi is our fun-loving, water-loving buddy who knows how to make a splash! With a soft spot for kids and a particular fondness for paddling pools, Dezi is happiest when there's fun to be had and a little mischief in the air.
Whether it's splashing about on a warm day or spending time with their favourite little humans, Dezi brings plenty of personality to life at Alkira Adina.
Dezi loves: Kids, paddling pools and making a spectacular splash whenever the opportunity arises!

Dezi isn't so keen on: Hats with fans, purple frogs and mysterious bunyips lurking in the dams. Honestly, who invited them?

Niall
Niall is one of the special personalities who makes the Alkira Adina herd unique. Every horse has their own quirks, preferences and ways of connecting with the people around them, and Niall is no exception!
Whether he's enjoying time in the paddock or spending time with his favourite people, Niall is part of what makes life at Alkira Adina so special.

Niall loves: Good company, a little attention and enjoying life at his own pace.
Niall isn't so keen on: Being interrupted during an important paddock moment or having his day unexpectedly rearranged!
