At Alkira Adina Equestrian, our riding lessons are grounded in Natural Horsemanship, a science-based approach that focuses on understanding how horses think, feel, and communicate. Rather than relying on kicking to go or pulling to stop, riders learn to communicate through balance, intention, and gentle cues from their seat and body.

Our lessons are suitable for children and adults aged 4+, welcoming beginners through to intermediate riders. Whether your goal is confidence in the saddle, preparing to own a horse one day, or simply enjoying a meaningful experience with horses, our program is designed to support you every step of the way.

What You’ll Learn

Tacking up and horse care
Learn how to safely and respectfully groom and saddle a horse. This essential skill builds confidence, independence, and a deeper understanding of horse welfare, and is often missed in traditional riding programs.

Riding skills
Develop balanced, effective riding at the walk, trot, and for some riders, canter. Lessons focus on clear communication through posture, balance, and feel rather than force.

Natural Horsemanship principles
Build trust, awareness, and teamwork with your horse, creating a true partnership rather than just “going for a ride”.

Participants over this weight are very welcome to join our ground-based Natural Horsemanship sessions.

Peak lesson times (such as after-school and weekends) are in high demand and are often booked directly through Alkira Adina Equestrian rather than online. If you’re hoping for a peak-time spot, we encourage you to get in touch so we can talk through options.

Ongoing or Casual Lessons

Ongoing lessons
Book your initial lesson online. If you’d like to continue in a regular weekly or fortnightly time slot in an off peak time (Tues-Fri 10am-2pm), just let us know and we’ll secure it for you where possible. Peak lesson times are 'purchased' and remain your time until cancelled.  Lessons can be purchased individually or as a package.

Can’t commit to a regular time, or the spot you want isn’t currently available? Our Flexi List might be perfect for you.

When a casual or ongoing riding spot becomes available, we’ll let you know. You can choose whether the timing works for you, with no obligation to accept. It’s a flexible way to ride without locking into a set schedule. Our flexi form is below for your convenience.

Casual vs Package Lessons

Casual Peak-Time Lessons
For families who can’t commit to a regular package—or want to try a peak-time lesson first—we offer casual bookings. These lessons give the same 1:1 instruction, premium experience, and priority peak-time access as packages.

• Booking your first casual lesson: Simply use the Book Now page to select your preferred time and pay online.

• Ongoing casual lessons: Once your initial session is complete, we manage future casual lessons via emailed invoices. This helps us keep track of the individual sessions you’ve paid for while ensuring your spot in a busy peak-time schedule.

Lesson Packages
Packages offer better value and guarantee your preferred peak-time slot. They are ideal if you want regular, consistent lessons, secure your time long-term, and enjoy savings over paying casually.

Families are welcome to stay casual if that works best—they won’t lose their spot—but packages remain the easiest way to secure ongoing peak-time lessons.
