About
This program provides new mentors and facilitators with a clear understanding of the Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) framework. It defines how EAL differs from clinical therapy and traditional riding lessons, focusing specifically on educational growth rather than horizontal horsemanship. Participants will explore how to design activities that support social-emotional learning and motor development through a pedagogical lens. The course covers practical session structures for both ground and saddle work, while emphasising the professional requirements of documentation, note-taking, and reflective practice. Facilitators will also learn how to guide students in transferring their stable-based skills to real-world environments and managing self-care within the role. This is an introduction to the more comprehensive equine assisted learning development program coming soon.
